Portland Deck Build
Incorporate outdoor living space into your life. This family of four needed more space to raise their family. Our deck and pergola design sits right outside the kitchen door and offers a covered dining area, storage and lots of extra play room for the kids and dog.

Special design challenges here are a very tight build space, so our frame and footings are designed to maximize every available square inch. Here we have the before picture of the area, and a 3D model of the proposed build.
The Plan and the Frame
A good framing and footer plan sets things in motion. The actual build evolves to stretch the deck as far as possible using a custom outrigger system of notched joists and solid blocking.​

Decking and the Pergola
With the frame complete, it is time to go to our full wood shop to fabricate the parts for the pergola. Made of tight know cedar and custom cut parts look great and are guaranteed to last a lifetime. A dry fit of the parts in our shop insures a hassle free installation on the site.
Secret Hatch
Access to mechanicals and structures under the deck are made possible with our design on this clever secret hatch. Flip up marine grade hardware site flush to the decking and allows a single person to lift the inset hatch and provide access to below the deck.​

Home Storage and Kids Space Solutions
Custom cubby storage solution for a family of cyclists to store all the bicycle bits and bobs. A simple design of 1/2" plywood, dadoes and rounded edges makes this piece easy on the hands and on the eyes. Finished with clear satin polyurethane.
Mud Kitchen built from repurposed lumber for the neighborhood kids tea parties. A durable marine grade finish on the top make this piece eash to hose of and keep clean for years.
